CHICAGO (Sept. 21, 2025) – Chicago Fire FC II announced today that the club has signed goalkeeper Owen Pratt through the 2026 season after his contract with Ventura County FC was mutually terminated recently.
Prior to joining Chicago, Pratt, 17, signed a first-team contract as a Homegrown Player with the LA Galaxy in January 2025 and has been playing with Ventura County FC of MLS NEXT Pro where he appeared in five matches (two starts) and recorded five saves. Pratt made his MLS NEXT Pro debut as a 16-year-old when he started and played 90 minutes for Ventura County FC against the Tacoma Defiance in the Round of 16 of the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs on Oct. 20.
Pratt was named the 2024 MLS NEXT Cup Best Goalkeeper after helping the LA Galaxy Academy U-17 squad to a 4-1 win over Charlotte FC in the 2024 U-17 MLS NEXT Cup final to be crowned champions of the tournament for a second consecutive season at GEODIS Park in Nashville, Tenn.
At the international level, Pratt has made multiple appearances for the U.S. Youth Men's National Team at the U-15, U-16 and U-17 levels.
