Hugo Berg and Darris Hyte Named to U-15 U.S. Men’s Youth National Team

CHICAGO (May 9, 2024) - Chicago Fire FC and U.S. Soccer today announced that Chicago Fire Academy players Hugo Berg and Darris Hyte have been called to represent the U-15 U.S. Men’s Youth National Team. The two Fire Academy players are set to participate in the Vlatko Markovic Tournament, an international competition set to take place May 10-20 in Northern Croatia.

The U-15 Men’s Youth National Team will commence tournament play against the host nation, Croatia, on Wednesday, May 15 at 10:30 a.m. CT at the Stadion Varteks in Varazdin. The following day, the USMYNT will face rivals England at 4:30 a.m. CT at the SRC Trate in Nedelisce, Croatia. They’ll play a final match against Morrocco on Friday, May 17 at 4:30 a.m. CT at the SRC Trate.

After an off day, the U-15 MYNT will play in a placement game with an opponent to be determined. Kickoff and location will also be determined following the first three matches of the tournament.

For Berg and Hyte, this will be their second call-up in two months. Berg and Hyte will be representing the red, white, and blue once again after making their first appearance with a U.S. Men’s Youth National Team in last month’s domestic camp. They both participated in the camp with teammate Roko Pehar and Academy coach Sammy Castellanos. This upcoming week will serve as their first time participating in tournament play.
