CHICAGO (Sept. 16, 2026) – Chicago Fire FC II and U.S. Soccer today announced that goalkeeper Jason Nemo Jr. and midfielder Christopher Morales have been called up to the U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team for an international training camp held from Sept. 21-Oct. 4 in San Pedro Del Pinatar, Spain.
U-17 USMNT head coach Jeremy Hall will lead a group of 22 players in the camp, which will feature four matches at the Pinatar Arena against Scotland on Sept. 26; the Netherlands on Sept. 29; Belgium on Oct. 1; and France on Oct. 3. The matches will serve as preparation ahead of 2027 Concacaf World Cup Qualifiers.
It will be the first time playing in the U-17 category for both Nemo and Morales – who have previously represented the United States in younger age groups – and other 2010-born players, as the age groups change in the summer. Their call-ups make Chicago Fire FC the MLS club with the most players in the roster alongside Charlotte FC.
Nemo became the third Chicago Fire Academy player to sign directly with Chicago Fire II on Dec. 10, 2025. He previously joined the Chicago Fire Academy in the 2023-24 season at the U-14 age level. Since starting in his MLS NEXT Pro debut at New York City FC II on May 5, 2026, the Evanston, Ill. native has recorded three shutouts and 66 saves in 19 starts with Chicago. Before then, he has been a regular call-up with the U-15 and U-16 levels, featuring in multiple camps as well as leading the U-15 side to the 2025 Concacaf Boys’ U-15 Championship in Costa Rica last summer,
Morales has also joined Nemo for international duty in multiple camps, including the same Concacaf U-15 Championship in 2025. The midfielder most recently signed his first professional deal with Chicago Fire II on Aug. 28 after playing at the U-18 level with the Chicago Fire Academy as a 15-year-old. The Chicago native made his MLS NEXT Pro debut on June 6 against Atlanta United 2, before recording three assists in one half in the East All-Stars' 6-1 win over the West All-Stars at the 2026 MLS NEXT All-Star Game on July 27.
