Chicago Fire FC II Announces 2024 MLS NEXT Pro Regular Season Schedule

CHICAGO (Feb. 8, 2024) – MLS NEXT Pro and Chicago Fire FC today announced the Club’s 28-game schedule for the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro regular season. Chicago will open the season on the road against FC Cincinnati 2 on Sunday, March 17, at Northern Kentucky University, and will host Toronto FC II in the team’s home opener on Friday, March 22, at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Ill. The match against Toronto will be broadcast on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

All of Chicago’s home games will take place at SeatGeek Stadium and will be open to the public for free. The majority of regular season matches, plus all Decision Day matches, playoffs and MLS NEXT Pro Cup will be available to watch live on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app. The remainder of regular season matches will stream live on mlsnextpro.com.

Overall, Chicago Fire II’s regular season home schedule features 14 matches, including six games on Friday, five on Sunday, two on Wednesday, and one on Thursday. The Fire play their most games at home during April and July, when they host three matches each month. The Fire will have two three-game homestands throughout the season, hosting Toronto FC II (March 22), Philadelphia Union II (March 28), and Crown Legacy FC (April 10) in the first half of the season. Then, the second homestand takes place against Inter Miami CF II (July 5), NYCFC II (July 14), and New England Revolution II (July 21) to kick off the second half of the regular season.

With the addition of two new clubs to the league, the Eastern Conference will feature updated divisions, with the Central Division becoming Southeast Division. Chicago will shift from the former Central Division to the Northeast Division along with FC Cincinnati 2 and Columbus Crew 2. This season will also mark the first time the Fire will play against expansion teams Carolina Core FC (April 19) and Chattanooga FC (June 7), who are set to play in their inaugural season in MLS NEXT Pro. Both contests will take place on home turf.

Similar to seasons past, the Chicago Fire FC II roster will comprise of first team players, players signed to MLS NEXT Pro contracts, as well as members of the Chicago Fire Academy. Ludovic Taillandier returns as the head coach for Chicago for his third season at the helm of the Chicago Fire II, alongside assistant coaches former Fire forward Patrick Nyarko and Gerson Pérez. Igor Dimov will serve as goalkeeping coach for Chicago Fire FC II.
