Match Preview
Chicago Fire FC II will open the home portion of the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro schedule with a Southeast Division matchup against Chattanooga FC on Sunday, March 15 at SeatGeek Stadium. Chicago will return to Bridgeview following two road contests to open the 2026 season.
After earning two points in South Florida in a draw and shootout victory against Miami, CFII traveled to Central Florida to face Orlando City B. Defender Jack Sandmeyer tallied his first goal in MLS NEXT Pro to tie the match for Chicago in first half stoppage time. But the Lions struck in the 72nd minute and held on to earn a home victory.
Chattanooga opened the season with two consecutive home matches, dropping the opener to Crown Legacy FC. The Boys in Blue returned to Finley Stadium for their second match, facing new MLS NEXT Pro side CT United FC on March 8. After conceding the opening goal, Chattanooga rattled off four in a row, highlighted by forward Alex Krehl's brace. A late goal from the visitors was not enough to ruin the mood as the blue-clad fans celebrated their first win of the season.
Sunday's home opener will be the first to feature Chattanooga FC in CFII history. It will be only the third meeting between both sides since the Tennessee-based side's MLS NEXT Pro debut in 2024, and only the second in Bridgeview. Chicago won their last matchup 1-0 on the road.

Chicago Fire Academy Midfielder Chase Nagle has appeared in both matches for Chicago Fire II (Orlando City SC)
