Sunday's match marks the second meeting of 2020 for these two sides. Chicago and New England previously battled to a 1-1 draw at Gillette Stadium on March 7. Defender Jonathan Bornstein scored the game-tying goal for the Fire in the 70th minute of that match. The Fire lead the all-time head-to-head regular season series against New England with a 27-22-14 record dating back to 1998.

The Fire own a 4-2-2 record against New England all-time in regular season matches played at Soldier Field.
