🤔 Fast Fact

Fire captain Francisco Calvo and NYCFC defender Ronald Matarrita have a lengthy shared history as both teammates and opponents. Both long-standing members of the Costa Rica Men's National Team, the pair have played alongside one another 20 times at the international level dating back to 2015. On the club side, the pair have squared off 10 times combined across both Costa Rica's Primera División and Major League Soccer. Since 2014, Calvo has represented Santos FC, Saprissa, Minnesota United and the Fire, while Matarrita has suited up for LD Alajuelense and NYCFC. Calvo is 3-3-4 against his countryman in that span.

🆚 #NYCvCHI All-Time

Saturday night's contest will be the 12th meeting all-time between the Fire and NYCFC, dating back the New York club's inaugural season in 2015. The Fire are 0-4-2 in the six matches played against NYCFC at Yankee Stadium over that span, but will look to earn their first three road points against their Eastern Conference counterparts at Red Bull Arena this weekend due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols.
