Chicago Fire Midfielder Djordje Mihailović Named to U.S. U-23 Men’s National Team Roster for United International Football Festival

CHICAGO(Nov. 8, 2019) – The Chicago Fire Soccer Club announced today that midfielder Djordje Mihailović has been named to the U.S. U-23 Men’s National Team roster for the United International Football Festival from Nov. 14-17 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain.


The U.S. will face Brazil on Thursday, Nov. 14 and then play Argentina or Chile in the final or third-place match of the four-team tournament on Sunday, Nov. 17.


Mihailović joins the U-23 MNT in Spain after recently participating in a pre-camp with the USMNT. He is one of two players that has appeared in all three U-23 MNT games so far in 2019, along with goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski.


He previously notched starts for the U-23s against Egypt (March 22) and the Netherlands (March 24), as well as starting and captaining the U-23s in a 2-0 friendly win over Japan on Sept. 9 at the Chula Vista Elite Athletic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif.


At the senior team level, Mihailović has earned five caps under Head Coach Gregg Berhalter in 2019, including two appearances in the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup. The midfielder is one of five players on the roster that have been capped with the full USMNT.
