Chicago Fire Midfielder Dax McCarty Called Up For World Cup Qualifiers

CHICAGO (Aug. 27, 2017) – Chicago Fire midfielder Dax McCarty has been selected by U.S. Men’s National Team head coach Bruce Arena for the 26-man roster for the training camp in advance of the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers against Costa Rica and Honduras.
The camp begins on Monday, Aug. 28 at Red Bulls Training Facility in Hanover, N.J. The United States host Costa Rica at Red Bull Arena on Sept. 1 at 5:30 p.m. CT (ESPN/UniMas) before traveling to face Honduras at Estadio Olimpico Metropolitano in San Pedro Sula on Sept. 5 at 4:30 p.m. CT (beIN SPORTS). The United States are currently 2-0-2 in World Cup Qualifying and sit in third place
McCarty most recently took part in the United States run to the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup championship. The Winter Park, Fla. native earned his first cap on Nov. 14, 2009 in an international friendly with Slovakia and has since made 12 total appearances for the USMNT.
