Fire reclaim No. 2 spot in latest MLS Power Rankings

Another four-goal performance led to yet another home victory for the Chicago Fire on the weekend, as the club extended it's run of wins at Toyota Park to a club-record nine-straight.

A Team of the Week performance from defender Patrick Doody and an MLS Goal of the Week-caliber strike from Matt Polster helped propel the Fire to a 4-1 rout over the visiting New England Revolution, pushing them to within three points of Toronto FC at the top of the table. The decisive win helped head coach Veljko Paunovic's side reclaim the second spot in the weekly MLS Power Rankings as a result.

Following Saturday's big win, here's what the league's editorial staff had to say about the club's ranking:

"After All-Star, the whole band was back together … and boy, did they look ready for the stretch run."

The Fire next hit the road to take on Eastern Conference rivals Columbus Crew SC on Saturday night (6:30 p.m. CT, CSN Chicago Plus) looking to continue their ascension up the standings.
