A Klopas Memory

McBride Crew

Yesterday as I passed big time Frank Klopas in the Chicago Fire offices, I presented him a query I’ve long wanted to ask him…
“Frank, aside from the obvious, what is maybe your more underrated Chicago Fire game, either as a player, assistant coach or manager?  Preferably, is there one during the regular season the last few years that particularly sticks out…?”
Almost like clockwork he rattled off the date, the opponent and goal scorers…
“April 25, 2009 at Crew Stadium, 2-2 McBride and Segares tally late.”
Then walked away (he was in a rush)…
After going down 2-0 in the first half at Columbus Crew Stadium, the Fire rallied late, getting two goals in as many minutes from Brian McBride and Gonzalo Segares.

Check out the box score and Segares’ 88th minute equalizer below...Trips down memory lane are fun, especially when you take points from the Crew!
