The FIRE INVITATIONAL is an approved tournament of the Illinois Youth Soccer Association which will take place on August 27th-29th 2021 in Libertyville, IL. The tournament is open to all youth soccer clubs and teams who wish to participate in a competitive pre-season style event in preparation for the upcoming Fall Season.

BASIC INFORMATION

The Tournament will consist of over 200 teams from Fire Juniors clubs, Chicago Fire affiliates & other invited clubs from the Midwest, with participation available through multiple levels of competition within each age group.

*U15-U19 High School Girls – maximum of 22 players (only 18 are allowed to dress for any one game).

TEAM PARTICIPATION, REFEREE SYSTEMS AND GUEST PLAYERS

The team or teams must be entered for competition in a league affiliated with the USSF or US CLUB and be sanctioned by the appropriate State or National Association. Prior to competition, teams must present proof of affiliation and permission to travel (out of state teams). Validated, laminated State player passes, as well as parental medical release forms, are required for all players participating in the tournament. Teams are allowed 3 passed coaches on bench. Each coach in the bench area must be licensed and hold the appropriate pass, and is responsible for his/her team and spectators at each game. Any team not having a passed coach at the beginning of the game will have until the end of halftime to provide a passed coach or the game at hand will be forfeited (see Forfeit section for impact of forfeiting a game). A maximum of three guest players is allowed (players from same club are not considered guest players). Teams need no prior approval for guest players. Forms for guest players can be attained through state association. Questions regarding guest players should be directed to the Tournament Director.

APPLICATION PROCESS

If you wish to participate in the FIRE INVITATIONAL, please complete the online application in its entirety and complete payment (US currency). The application must be completed online by July 23th 2021, and the tournament fee paid by July 23th, 2021. Fees can be paid either online with a credit card (additional processing fee applies) or by mailing in a check.

Chicago Fire Family Activation Zone

Players, coaching staff and family members participating in the tournament will have an opportunity to experience the Chicago Fire Family Activation area. This is interactive area located in the middle of the Libertyville soccer fields and will host a number of our sponsors including VEO, Adidas, soccer.com and Chicago Fire fun activities for participants to take part in when not on the field of play. 2019 Firefest included a number of interactive games, giveaways, 3v3 field, eMLS games and a DJ playing music.

HOTEL POLICY

Please note this is a Stay to Play Event for non-local teams. As a condition of acceptance, all non-local attendees are expected to utilize official event hotels. Upon registration and confirmation of acceptance, and email with official event hotel information will be sent to team managers. All hotels provide rooms with 2 beds (or King and pullout sleeper) and are convenient to fields and dining. Please note that no room type guarantee is available.

FACILITY PARKING FEES

There are no parking fees for this event at the Libertyville Township Soccer Complex.

TEAM CHECK-IN

All teams will be required to submit their paperwork online via TGS Fire Invitational Event platform. Once submitted, paperwork will be reviewed and accepted/rejected. Please contact firejuniors@chicagofirefc.com with your team name and age group if you need to update your paperwork.

REFUND POLICY

No refunds will be made unless the tournament is cancelled, in which case refunds will be disbursed on a pro-rata basis with a full refund if the event is cancelled before it starts. If the tournament is cancelled due to an “act of nature”, the tournament will retain 25% of the team entry fee. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to decide all matters pertaining to the tournament, and the judgment is final.

COVID-19 related refund:

In the event the tournament is canceled due to COVID-19 by federal, state, or local guidelines, 100% of event registration fees (less processing fees) will be refunded.

If your state prevents you from traveling because of Covid-19, your registration fee will be refunded.

If Illinois is on your state’s quarantine list, your registration fee will be refunded.
