CHICAGO (March 22, 2024) – Chicago Fire FC today announced that the Club has signed midfielder
Juan Miguel Calle (pronounced: KAH-yay) to an MLS NEXT Pro contract through the 2025 season. Calle will occupy an international position on the roster. Financial details were not disclosed.
“Juan is a young, talented player with a lot of potential,” said Chicago Fire II General Manager Alex Boler. “At just 18-years-old, he can play in multiple positions, and we’re excited to welcome him to Chicago.”
Calle, 18, joins Chicago from Belen La Nubia Arco Zaragoza where he has played since February 2020. While playing for Belen La Nubia, Calle was selected to the represent the Antioquia regional team at the U-17 and U-19 levels.
“We very much look forward to having Juan join us this season,” said Chicago Fire II Head Coach Ludovic Taillandier. “His versatility will be a great asset as we put together a strong squad that is a good mix of older and younger players.”
